Sunil Narine gave an ideal start to KKR
Partnering with the dynamic Phil Salt at the crease, Narine orchestrated an impressive 86-run opening stand, capitalizing on the fielding restrictions during the powerplay overs. While Narine grabbed the headlines with his aggressive batting display, Salt provided invaluable support, showcasing his own batting prowess until his innings was cut short by the cunning bowling of Vijaykumar Vyshak.
Salt’s innings of 30 runs off 20 balls, including two well-timed boundaries and two towering sixes, came to an end with a well-judged catch by the alert Cameron Green. Despite facing setbacks during the innings, KKR’s skipper Shreyas Iyer and the versatile Venkatesh Iyer took charge of the situation, assuming responsibility and steering the team towards a commanding position.
