IPL 2024: [WATCH]- MS Dhoni Leaves The Field Limping After A Strong Performance vs DC

MS Dhoni‘s outstanding performance was a significant highlight for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) despite their 20-run loss to Delhi Capitals (DC) in Visakhapatnam on Sunday, March 31.

Dhoni, batting for the first time this season, showcased his vintage batting prowess with an unbeaten 37 runs off just 16 balls. The former CSK captain’s blistering innings included three sixes and four boundaries.

The experienced player has impressed spectators with his exceptional wicketkeeping skills in IPL 2024. However, concerns arose among CSK fans when a video circulated on social media after the DC vs CSK match, showing MS Dhoni limping off the field, potentially indicating an injury concern.

It’s noteworthy that MS Dhoni participated in all of CSK’s matches during their championship-winning campaign last year, despite facing issues with his knee. After the season concluded, he underwent knee surgery at Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai.

“I think he will play the IPL for two more years” – Kris Srikkanth views on MS Dhoni’s IPL future

The current IPL 2024 season is considered to be MS Dhoni’s final campaign. He even passed on the captaincy of CSK to Ruturaj Gaikwad ahead of the team’s first match.

However, former Indian cricketer Kris Srikkant suggested that Dhoni might continue playing for another two seasons in the yellow jersey. He highlighted Dhoni’s exceptional wicketkeeping skills and his impressive form with the bat.

Discussing on his YouTube channel, Srikkanth expressed:

“In terms of keeping, he is still the best Indian keeper. He is still taking catches nonchalantly while standing up to spinners. He is still India’s best. No. 1 is Dhoni, No. 2 is Wriddhiman Saha, they both are still the best in the business.”

“He made it look so easy. He is keeping well, he is batting well, he is running between the wickets well. Is he 42? I think he will play the IPL for two more years, I think.”

Dhoni’s next appearance will be on Friday, April 5, when CSK faces SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.
