IPL 2024: [WATCH]- Nabi Takes A Stunner As Hardik Pandya Removes KL Rahul In The LSG vs MI Match

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) won the toss against Hardik Pandya‘s Mumbai Indians (MI) and chose to bowl first at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.

Quinton de Kock was absent for LSG, while Mayank Yadav returned to the team. KL Rahul and Marcus Stoinis provided Lucknow with a strong start in their chase of 144 runs after losing debutant Arshin Kulkarni early.

Although Rahul was dismissed by Hardik Pandya, Stoinis continued to make inroads into the target before being dismissed by Mohammed Nabi after scoring 62 runs.

Nehal Wadhera’s 46 and Tim David’s late surge in the final over helped Mumbai Indians reach a respectable total of 144/7 against the Lucknow Super Giants. Mumbai faced early setbacks, losing key players like Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Verma, and Hardik Pandya within the first six overs, but Ishan Kishan and Wadhera managed to revive their innings to some extent.

The bowlers of Lucknow Super Giants limited Mumbai Indians to a score of 144/7

Lucknow Super Giants showcased a clinical bowling performance, restricting Mumbai Indians to 144 for seven in the Indian Premier League on Tuesday, as MI’s top-order struggled. Despite a brief 53-run partnership between Nehal Wadhera (46) and Ishan Kishan (32), MI couldn’t recover from the early setbacks, managing just 28 for 4 in the powerplay, the second-lowest score in this IPL.

Tim David’s quickfire 35 off 18 balls provided some relief, but MI found themselves in trouble early on, losing key wickets including Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav.

LSG utilized Marcus Stoinis effectively in the powerplay, while Ravi Bishnoi’s accurate throw caught Tilak Varma short. Even though Kishan and Wadhera attempted to stabilize the innings, LSG’s bowlers maintained pressure, limiting MI’s progress.

Despite a late flourish from David, MI failed to post a challenging total. Mayank Yadav’s return from injury was marred by concerns as he left the field after dismissing Mohammed Nabi.
