Shubman Gill, the captain of Gujarat Titans (GT), has begun training ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL), set to begin on March 22. The official social media of Gujarat Titans shared a video of Gill demonstrating his signature shots during practice sessions.
Following Hardik Pandya’s return to Mumbai Indians (MI), Gill will assume the leadership role for the franchise.

In the previous season, Gill clinched the Orange Cap by scoring 890 runs in 17 matches, boasting an impressive average of 59.33 and a striking rate exceeding 157.8. He notched three centuries and four half-centuries, with his highest score being 129.
The upcoming 17th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is scheduled to commence on March 22, featuring a match between defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, marking a South Indian derby showdown.
The runners-up from last year, Gujarat Titans, and the five-time champions Mumbai Indians will kick off the campaign with an exciting clash on March 24 in Ahmedabad.
The match has garnered significant attention due to star all-rounder Hardik Pandya’s return to his former franchise, MI, after two successful seasons with GT. Pandya notably led GT to victory in their debut season in 2022, adding to the anticipation surrounding this fixture.
This time, Pandya is the captain of MI instead of Rohit Sharma, and Shubman Gill has become the captain of GT.
