The anticipation is at its peak as the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises gear up for the auction ahead of the 2024 edition. The auction is set to take place on Tuesday, November 19 in Dubai. On Monday, December 11, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed the final player list for the auction.

1166 players had signed up for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 auction. However, the franchises have short-listed the number to 333. Of these, 214 are Indian players while 119 are overseas cricketers, including two from associate nations. The list features 116 capped players and 215 uncapped players. Let’s take a look at who are the youngest and the oldest cricketers who will go under the hammer at the 2024 Indian Premier League auction.

Youngest and Oldest players in IPL 2024 player auction list

The Indian Premier League 2024 (IPL) auction list features players from all across the world. Some of them are highly experienced, while others are hoping to make a mark for themselves. Interestingly, the oldest and the youngest players in the IPL 2024 auction list are both from the same nation, Afghanistan. 16-year-old Allah Ghazanfa, a mystery spinner will be the youngest player at the auction.

Allah Ghazanfa has featured in four List A matches and three T20 matches so far. He has four List-A wickets at an average of 39.75 and an economy rate of 4.54. In T20s, he has picked up five wickets at an average of 11.20 and an economy rate of 6.22. Currently, he is representing the country in the ACC U19 Men’s Asia Cup in Dubai.

Meanwhile, former Afghanistan captain Mohammad Nabi, who will turn 39 on January 1, is the oldest player in the auction. He has represented the Sunrisers Hyderabad and was part of the Kolkata Knight Riders previously in the tournament. The all-rounder has played 17 Indian Premier League matches, taking 13 wickets at an average of 31.38 and an economy rate of 7.14. he has also scored 180 runs at a strike rate of 151.26.
