Rajasthan Royals registered a dominating 9-wicket win over Mumbai Indians in match number 38 of IPL 2024 played at Sawai Man Singh Stadium, Jaipur on 22nd April 2024. It was a historic moment as Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sandeep Sharma became the 3rd pair to score a century and pick 5 wickets in the same IPL match.
Sandeep Sharma came back into the playing XI replacing Kuldeep Sen. He dismissed Ishan Kishan with a review in his first over. The umpire called it not out, but on review, it was overturned to out with an edge. Sandeep then got the wickets of Suryakumar Yadav. Sandeep then dismissed well-set Tilak Varma, Gerald Coetzee, and Tim David in the last over to finish with figures of 5 for 18 in 4 overs. His bowling efforts helped RR restrict MI to 179 for 9 in 20 overs.
Yashasvi Jaiswal returned to form with a superb unbeaten 104 to help Rajasthan Royals beat MI by 9 wickets. He played with intent, putting the bad deliveries away for boundaries in the first six overs. Jaiswal kept the momentum going after the dismissal of Buttler. Jaiswal and Buttler added 74 runs for the opening wicket. He completed fifty off just 31 deliveries.
Jaiswal made the batting look easy, taking on Mohammad Nabi and Piyush Chawla. It was a superb knock as the explosive left-handed Jaiswal completed his first century of this tournament. During his brilliant knock, he smashed 9 fours and 7 sixes. He along with Sanju Samson put on an unbeaten 109 runs for the 2nd wicket. Sandeep Sharma was named the player of the match award for his 5 for 18.
Jaiswal showed his class with some lovely shots. He was dropped by Tilak Varma at the boundary led him to attack MI bowlers.

Gujarat Titans Shubman Gill scored 129 off 60 deliveries while Mohit Sharma grabbed 5 for 10 in 2.2 overs against Mumbai Indians in qualifier 2 played at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad on 26th May 2023.
England’s explosive opener Jos Buttler smashed 103 off 61 balls while Yuzvendra Chahal grabbed 5 for 40 in 4 overs including a hattrick against Kolkata Knight Riders on 18th April 2022 at Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai.
