Rajat Patidar, the captain of Royal Challengers Bengaluru, achieved a significant milestone in the Indian Premier League (IPL) by scoring 1000 runs in just 30 innings. This impressive performance came during a 2025 match against the Punjab Kings.
With this, Patidar became the second-fastest Indian to reach the 1000-run mark in IPL history, only behind Sai Sudharsan from Gujarat Titans, who reached the mark in 25 innings.
Patidar’s achievement is even more remarkable as he surpassed cricket legends like Sachin Tendulkar and Ruturaj Gaikwad, both of whom reached the milestone in 31 innings. Tilak Varma of Mumbai Indians also comes close, having taken 33 innings to score 1000 runs.
A Unique Record in IPL History
What truly sets Patidar apart is a unique combination of batting statistics. He is the first Indian batter in IPL history to reach 1000 runs with both an average above 35 and a strike rate over 150. This rare achievement highlights his ability to maintain consistency while playing aggressively.
