Delhi Capitals (DC) wicketkeeper KL Rahul reminded fans of his Karnataka roots during the post-match presentation of IPL 2025’s 24th match on April 10. After earning the ‘Man of the Match’ award for his unbeaten 93 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), Rahul stated that no one knows M Chinnaswamy Stadium better than he does.
Having represented Karnataka in domestic cricket for over a decade and previously played for RCB in the IPL, Rahul used his familiarity and experience to anchor DC’s innings. With the team struggling at 30/3 during the powerplay while chasing 164, he stepped up with a match-winning knock.
Following DC’s six-wicket win, here’s what Rahul said at the presentation (via iplt20.com):
“This is my ground, this is my home. I know this better than anybody else. So, yeah, I enjoyed playing here.”
Rahul played a dazzling unbeaten knock of 93 off 53 balls, hitting seven boundaries and six maximums. His performance earned him the awards for Most Fours, Most Sixes, and Most Fantasy Points in the match.

When asked about the pitch used in the match between DC and RCB, KL Rahul described it as “tricky.” He noted that wicketkeeping for DC in the first innings gave him better insight into the pitch conditions.
“It was a slightly tricky wicket, but I think what helped me is being behind the stumps for 20 overs, watching how the wicket played. From wicketkeeping, I figured it out the ball sat in a little bit, but it was consistent throughout. It wasn’t two-paced,” Rahul said (via iplt20.com).
Rahul’s fifty played a key role in securing DC’s fourth straight win in IPL 2025, keeping them as the only unbeaten team this season.
