MS Dhoni and Dwayne Bravo’s recent meeting before the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) versus Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) match caught everyone’s attention online. Despite now being on rival sides, the bond between the two remains strong. Dhoni jokingly called Bravo a “traitor” as he walked toward him during a practice session.

The friendly banter between the two stars delighted fans and quickly went viral. From Teammates to Opponents

Bravo had long associations with CSK, first from 2011 to 2015 and then again from 2018 to 2022. He even served as CSK’s bowling coach in the 2023 and 2024 IPL seasons. However, ahead of IPL 2025, Dwayne Bravo joined KKR as their bowling coach.

Now, while MS Dhoni leads CSK again as captain, Bravo’s role is to help KKR counter CSK’s strengths. Their upcoming clash adds an interesting layer to the game, especially with Dhoni making a return as captain after Ruturaj Gaikwad was ruled out due to an elbow injury. Fans are eager to see how both legends perform in their new roles on opposite sides of the field.

CSK Hopes for a Turnaround at Chepauk

CSK is under pressure in the current IPL season, having faced several defeats. Though their batters showed good form in the recent match against Punjab Kings, they still lost by 18 runs while chasing a big target of 219. The return of Dhoni as captain brings hope for better results.

Chepauk, CSK’s home ground, has not provided the usual advantage this season. The pitch has changed, making it harder for the team to adapt. This has even led to frustration for their long-time coach, Stephen Fleming, especially after a heavy loss to Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
