IPL 2025: [WATCH]- Trent Boult’s Hilarious Imitation Of MI Teammate Sparks Laughter Ahead Of GT Clash

Mumbai Indians (MI) pacer Trent Boult appeared to be in high spirits during a practice session ahead of their crucial IPL 2025 Eliminator clash against Gujarat Titans (GT), scheduled for May 30 in Mullanpur. In a light-hearted moment, Boult mimicked the bowling action of his New Zealand teammate and fellow left-armer Mitchell Santner, breaking into laughter right after.

Boult and Santner have long been teammates for New Zealand across various formats. While Santner represented Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in IPL 2024, Boult played for Rajasthan Royals. This season, both have joined the Mumbai Indians (MI), with Santner being picked for ₹2 crore at the auction and Boult commanding a hefty ₹12.50 crore.

After Boult’s imitation of Santner, MI fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah reacted by saying:

“That’s why we should stick to fast bowling”.

Trent Boult Climbs To Third Spot In IPL 2025 Purple Cap Standings

Trent Boult has lived up to his hefty ₹12.50 crore price tag in IPL 2025, claiming 19 wickets in 14 matches at an average of 22.26. His consistent performances have placed him third on the list of top wicket-takers this season, trailing only Noor Ahmad (24 wickets) and Prasidh Krishna (23).

While the experienced left-arm pacer delivered a solid performance against the Delhi Capitals with figures of 1/29, he found it tough against Punjab Kings, going wicketless and conceding 36 runs in 3.3 overs. Despite some recent inconsistencies in the Titans’ overall performance, their opening pair remains in good touch.

Boult will need to be at his best with the new ball if Mumbai Indians hope to progress to Qualifier 2. The five-time IPL champions are eyeing a record-extending sixth title. Meanwhile, the Qualifier 1 match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Punjab Kings is scheduled for May 29 in Mullanpur.
