IPL 2025: [WATCH]- Virat Kohli Pays Tribute To Childhood Coach After Match-Winning Fifty Against DC

Indian and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batter Virat Kohli shared a heartwarming moment with his childhood coach Rajkumar Sharma after delivering a match-winning half-century against Delhi Capitals (DC). Playing at his home ground, the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, Kohli crafted a composed innings of 51 off 47 balls, laced with four boundaries.

Coming in during a crisis after RCB were reduced to 26/3 within four overs, the local hero steadied the innings, with every run drawing loud cheers from the ecstatic crowd. His crucial knock guided RCB to successfully chase down the 163-run target in 18.3 overs, sealing a six-wicket win.

Postmatch, Virat Kohli met Rajkumar Sharma, respectfully touched his feet, and embraced him warmly in front of the cheering crowd. In a lighthearted moment, Sharma playfully tapped Kohli’s stomach in celebration. You can watch the video here:

The RCB opener notched up his sixth fifty of the season, putting the team in a commanding position. After his dismissal in the 18th over, Tim David entered and wrapped up the chase with an explosive unbeaten 19 off just 5 balls.

Kohli’s scintillating form has made him the leading run-scorer of the tournament, amassing 443 runs in ten innings at an impressive average of 63.28 and a strike rate of 138.87. Meanwhile, RCB continued their dominance away from home, clinching their sixth consecutive away victory, and moving to the top of the points table with 14 points from ten games.

The Rajat Patidar-led side will next face Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on May 3 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
