Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) captain and star batter Rishabh Pant met the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 robot ‘Champak’ following their match against Mumbai Indians (MI) on Sunday, April 27. LSG faced a 54-run defeat at the Wankhede Stadium.
After the match, Pant was spotted on the field alongside the LSG owners, engaging in a playful interaction with ‘Champak’. The franchise later shared a video of the moment on X (formerly known as Twitter) with the caption:

Rishabh Pant’s struggles with the bat in this IPL season persisted, managing only four runs from two deliveries. So far, the left-handed batter has accumulated just 110 runs across nine innings, averaging 12.22 with a strike rate of 98.21. He has registered only a single half-century throughout the season.
LSG suffer second straight loss against MI
Meanwhile, LSG’s defeat to MI marked their second consecutive loss, following an eight-wicket defeat to Delhi Capitals (DC) in their previous outing. Batting first, Mumbai set a formidable total of 215/7 in their allotted 20 overs. In response, Lucknow struggled to build momentum and were eventually bowled out for 161 runs in their 20 overs.
Ayush Badoni (35), Mitchell Marsh (34), David Miller (24), and Nicholas Pooran (27) were the only notable contributors with the bat. However, despite their efforts, they failed to make a significant impact, with none of them able to build a partnership that could push LSG closer to the target, let alone secure a victory.
With five wins and five losses from ten matches, Lucknow currently sit sixth on the points table with ten points. Their remaining four games are now critical as the playoff race intensifies, with every match holding greater significance. LSG will next face Punjab Kings (PBKS) on Sunday, May 4, in a must-win encounter to stay in contention for the playoffs.
