[WATCH]- Rishabh Pant Engages In A Discussion With Mentor Zaheer Khan During LSG vs DC Clash

During their IPL 2025 clash against Delhi Capitals (DC) on Tuesday, April 22, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) captain Rishabh Pant was spotted deep in conversation with team mentor Zaheer Khan. The exchange took place in the dugout at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow, after LSG had put up a total of 159/6 while batting first.

Pant, who was fully padded up, seemed animated as he chatted with Zaheer towards the end of the 19th over. Seated next to each other, the duo appeared engaged in a serious discussion, with the left-hander using expressive hand gestures during the interaction.

Rishabh Pant’s arrival to bat came as a surprise, as he came in at number seven and faced just two balls. He walked to the crease in the final over but was unable to score any runs.

Rishabh Pant’s struggles with the bat persist in IPL 2025

Wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant was bought by LSG for a hefty ₹27 crore during the mega auction. While he has captained the team effectively so far, leading them to five wins from eight games before the current DC match, his batting has been underwhelming.

The left-handed batter has struggled to find form and make an impact, amassing just 106 runs from eight innings at a disappointing average of 13.25 and a subpar strike rate of 96.36.

Though he managed to score a half-century, hitting 63 off 49 balls against Chennai Super Kings, he has only surpassed 10 runs in two other innings. With his ongoing poor form, coming in to bat as late as number seven against Delhi has only fueled further criticism of the LSG skipper.

Pant was dismissed for a duck, marking his second scoreless innings, the first being a six-ball duck against Delhi Capitals in the opening game. As the tournament intensifies, LSG will need Pant to regain form to secure a playoff spot.
