Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni could not help his side through against Sunrisers Hyderabad as CSK lost the match by a mere 7 runs margin. In the built-up of the chase of 143 runs, Chennai batsmen lost quick wickets which put all the pressure on MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja as the two stitched a partnership of 70 odd runs in the chase. Dhoni struggled to get going early as his 47 runs off 36 balls ended up in the losing cause.
In the match itself, we noticed that the ever fit MS Dhoni was struggling out there in the middle. He himself confirmed during the post-match presentation that he was struggling to breathe because of the weather conditions being too dry.
Since the layout of the Dubai International Cricket Stadium is a closed one with very less room for air to ventilate we can say that it was pretty much difficult for the former India skipper to breathe in that chase.
Irfan Pathan Takes An Indirect Dig Towards MS Dhoni
On the contrary, former India pace bowler Irfan Pathan who has been delivering his expert analysis on television came out with a cryptic tweet earlier today. The fast bowler played under Dhoni was a number of years including the 2007 inaugural T20 World Cup and the 2013 Champions Trophy.
Irfan Pathan tweeted, “Age is just a number for some and for others a reason to be dropped.” earlier today on twitter.

Many believe that he has taken an indirect dig at his former India skipper MS Dhoni since we all are aware how Dhoni didn’t really cherish players in the Indian team who didn’t really have the age by their side.
As in the past, we’ve seen how the ouster of the likes of Virender Sehwag, Sourav Ganguly, Gautam Gambhir and Rahul Dravid was blamed on MS Dhoni as he believed in the fact that young players would be more agile on the field.
