Indian opener Ishan Kishan has been rewarded for his brilliant performance against South Africa in the recently concluded T20I series. He has moved to the sixth spot in the latest ICC T20I rankings for batters.
Several questions were raised about Ishan Kishan’s form coming into the T20I series. However, he proved his critics wrong and showcased his batting talent once again. Ishan was the leading run-scorer in the five-match T20I series. He scored 206 runs in five innings at an average of 41.20 and a strike rate of 150.36.
The left-hander’s run tally includes two half-centuries for India in the series. He is the lone Indian batter in the top 10 rankings in T20Is. Ishan Kishan is also the leading run-scorer for India in the T20 format this year, scoring 382 runs at an average of 38.20.
Meanwhile, Pakistan batter Mohammed Rizwan and Australian opener Aaron Finch have moved a place up. Rizwan is in the second spot, while Finch jumped to the fifth position in the latest rankings.

India’s wicket-keeper batter Dinesh Karthik also reaped rewards for his performance. Dinesh has been in great form in the last couple of months. After his batting exploits in the Indian Premier League, he continued it in the T20I series against South Africa.
The right-handed batter was making a comeback to the Indian T20I team after around three years. Dinesh has jumped 108 places and currently sits in the 87th position. He scored 92 runs in four innings at an average of 46 and a strike rate of 158.62.
Yuzvendra Chahal rises to 23rd position in the T20I rankings
Indian spinner Yuzvendra Chahal performed impressively well in the Indian Premier League 2022 season. He won the Purple cap playing for the Rajasthan Royals in the tournament. Chahal followed it up with a good outing against South Africa in the T20I series.
The leg-spinner proved to be expensive in the first two matches, however, made a comeback in the next two. Chahal finished the series with six wickets at an average of 19.33 and an economy rate of 8.18. Meanwhile, Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan moved one place up. He is in the third position jointly with Tabraiz Shamsi and Adam Zampa.
