Ishan Kishan made his t20I debut for India in the second T20I against England. He was one of the two changes that India made to their playing XI. His Mumbai Indians teammate Suryakumar Yadav was another one who made his T20I debut for India. Meanwhile, England scored 164/6 batting first with contributions from Jason Roy at the top and Jonny Bairstow, Dawid Malan, Eoin Morgan and Ben Stokes in the middle-order.

The Indian bowlers bowled well to keep the visitors under 170. Washington Sundar and Shardul Thakur picked up two wickets each.

Meanwhile, when it was India’s turn to bat, Ishan Kishan walked out to open the batting with KL Rahul. Rahul was dismissed early yet again, while Kishan started on a good note. he played free-flowing strokes and captivated the Motera crowd. In the process, he added a half-century stand with skipper Virat Kohli.

He greeted England bowler Tom Curran with a six in the very first delivery of his spell. It was the last over of the batting powerplay of the Indian innings when England skipper Eoin Morgan decided to bring in Curran.

He picked up the half volley and hit it over the stands for a might six over long-on. in the process, he also went past a fifty-on debut and became only the second Indian after Ajinkya Rahane to do so. He was finally dismissed on 56 off 32 deliveries. Kishan added 93 runs for the second wicket with his skipper and outscored Kohli in the process.

Ishan Kishan scored 516 runs for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2020. It was then that he hogged the limelight. Since then he has been scoring consistently. He scored important runs in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and the Vijay Haare trophy as well.

Earlier, The BCCI posted a video of Virat Kohli presenting the India cap to Ishan Kishan, while Ravi Shastri presenting it to Suryakumar, who even waved it to his teammates’ appreciation. Both the youngsters have consistently scored in the IPL and domestic cricket in the last two to three seasons and deservedly made it to the playing XI.
