“It Doesn’t Matter Who Is The Captain” – When MS Dhoni Offered To Quit India Captaincy

MS Dhoni who’s known as one of the greatest players who has played the game and is one of the most recognized captains of all time. He captained India to win all 3 ICC trophies within his captaincy career. He’s still known as the most successful captain in Indian cricket and all over the world. As it looks, it does not appear the same way. The skipper was also under the hammer when India faced an embarrassing series defeat again Bangladesh back in 2015.

After the series defeat, MS Dhoni arrived at the press conference and was overloaded with questions on India’s defeat. But as we all know how cool MS Dhoni is, he handled it in his own style and said:

“I am always the one who is responsible for anything bad that happens in Indian cricket. Everything that happens is because of me. Even the Bangladesh media is smiling,” Dhoni had said in the press conference.

Moreover, one question was raised about split captaincy and he said, it doesn’t even matter who’s leading the side.

“I am really enjoying my cricket. But when the earlier question was asked, I knew this question one was coming. These questions always keep popping. The media loves me. If it is justifiable if you remove me and the Indian cricket will start doing well, and if I am the reason for all the bad that’s happening to Indian cricket, definitely, I would love to step away and play as a player.

“It doesn’t really matter, who is the captain because I was never really in line to become the captain. It was a job or responsibility for me. They want to take it away from me, I am fine,” he further added in his statement.
