Afghanistan bowling sensation Rashid seems excited for bowling a spell in the new format of franchise cricket; The Hundred. Rashid Khan is looking forward to the new bowling rules of the tournament. Notably, the SRH leg spinner is part of Trent Rockets in the first edition of The Hundred. In the new English league, the 6-ball over the system has been abolished.
The rules suggest that a bowler can bowl a maximum of 20 deliveries a game, which can come in blocks of 5 deliveries or even 10 deliveries. The master of leg-spin Rashid Khan would love to play in Trent Bridge and demolish the opposition batting unit with his magical deliveries.
However, Rashid Khan is looking forward to challenging bowling conditions at the venue. He also highlighted the significance of delivering good line and length, which is the undoubtedly bowler’s best weapon in every condition.

‘So it will be definitely a challenge. I will need consistency in how I bowl, and that will be tested. But as long as I have that positive mindset for the game, I can deliver,’ Rashid said

However, bowling ten deliveries continuously will definitely be a challenge for all the bowlers. It’s a fact that over the years bowlers have prepared themselves to deliver six delivery in an over. Adding to it delivering more than six balls will be a very new thing for bowlers. Meanwhile, it will be interesting to see can a bowler delivering 10 deliveries maintain a good line and length or not.
The young leg spinner Rashid Khan opined that the bowler will have an opportunity to pick ten wickets in a row. He further added bowlers can pick 3 hattricks in the first spell. However, he also talked about the threat of conceding so many runs.
“It kind of gives you an opportunity to take ten wickets straight away, and three hat-tricks. That’s an advantage we have, but you can also be hit for ten sixes as well, or give 50 runs away in just ten balls,’ he elaborated.
Rashid Khan will join The Hundred on 24 June 2021 when his team faces the Southern Brave at Trent Bridge, Nottingham.
