Babar Azam has responded to Dinesh Karthik’s comment, saying that it is his dream to be the No.1 batter across all formats. In a recent interview, veteran wicket-keeper batter Karthik had appreciated the work ethic and consistency of the Pakistan skipper.
Babar has been the backbone of Pakistan’s batting line-up currently. He has been belting runs consistently in recent times across formats. Recently during a media interaction, Pakistan skipper Babar Azam was asked about his views on this statement of Dinesh Karthik.
Pakistan skipper looked delighted with the words of Dinesh. He said, “Definitely, as a player it’s a dream to become the No. 1 in all formats and for that, you have to focus and put in hard work. It’s not like if you are the top player in 1 or 2 formats, you go easy. If you are to become No.1 in all three, you have to keep yourself fit and on track. “
Babar Azam also focused on the topic of fitness and called it an essential factor to excel in all three formats. Babar Azam in his interview added, “There is back-to-back cricket and the gap is less. For that, you need to be extra fit. It’s something I am preparing for. It’s going well in white-ball and hopefully, I will be able to do well in Tests too,”

A few days back while speaking to Sanjana Ganesan on The ICC Review, Dinesh Karthik was in awe of the brilliant record of Pakistan skipper across the formats. He also predicted that Babar is soon going to achieve excellence in Test Cricket too.
Karthik also said that Babar has the capability to enter in FAB 4 category and make it a FAB five batsman.
“Babar is a high-quality player who is at the peak of his batting prowess and he has got some Test matches coming up. He has been phenomenal in all three formats of the game and he has done well in different batting positions too. I wish him all the best and think he has the potential. He has got all the following of Pakistan helping him in abundance to go on and do special things for his country,” Karthik had said earlier.
