James Faulkner Leaves PSL Midway After Payment Issues; PCB Reacts

Australian All-Rounder James Faulkner has left Pakistan Super League (PSL) in the middle of the season. Faulkner has accused the PSL and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) of failing to meet contractual and financial responsibilities. He used the microblogging site Twitter to reveal all the information.

Faulkner apologised to the Pakistani fans for pulling out of final two matches of PSL 2022. He further stated that the concerned PCB officials have continued to mislead him during the entire duration of the tournament. “I’ve been here the whole duration and they have continued to lie to me.”, Faulkner said.

The 31-year old added that his intention has always been to promote cricket in Pakistan. but the treatment he received from the PCB and the PSL’s management, has been a disgrace. “It hurts to leave as I wanted to help to get international cricket back in Pakistan as there is so much young talent and the fans are amazing. But the treatment I have received has been a disgrace from the @TheRealPCB and @thePSLt20 I’m sure you all understand my position.”, Faulkner said.

Pakistan Cricket Board reacts to James Faulkner’s Accusations

In the meanwhile, the Pakistan Cricket Board has said that James Faulkner’s allegations are false and they’ll be issuing a full response on the matter very soon.

According to some sources, before departure, James Faulkner threw his bat and helmet from the lobby floor balcony of a hotel in Lahore into a chandelier, following a disagreement with a PCB official. He also reportedly misbehaved with the security officers at the Lahore immigration.

 

In the ongoing PSL season, Faulkner appeared in six games for Quetta Gladiators, claiming six wickets at an economy rate of 9.80.
