Jasprit Bumrah Receives Guard Of Honour After Scoring Maiden First Class 50

Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah has achieved a rare feat in his career as he became the highest run-scorer among in the Indian batsman featuring in the warm-up match against Australia A. This all happened when after the completion of the limited-overs leg, both teams edged into the long format arena with the test series starting on 17th December at the Adelaide Oval.

During the second warm-up match of the tour, India having won the toss chose to bat first against the Australia A side. The Australian bowlers ran a riot through the Indian bowlers as none of them actually got going until India’s tailender Jasprit Bumrah walked in. In the 57 delivery knock Jasprit Bumrah played, he scored 55 runs which included 6 fours and 2 sixes.

Bumrah’s knock should not overshadow India’s woes this series, with Virat Kohli not featuring in the remainder of the three tests. A lot of responsibility falls on the other batsman in the side. But with the results India has had in both the warm-up games, it is quite evident that other than Ajinkya Rahane none of the batsmen have got going. The opening spot is still in question with the Rohit Sharma, we still aren’t sure if India would open with Prithvi Shaw or Shubman Gill along with Mayank Agarwal.
