Jasprit Bumrah’s ‘Flight’ Send-Off To Haris Rauf Sets Social Media Ablaze

In the Asia Cup 2025 final, Jasprit Bumrah produced a memorable moment by dismissing Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf with a fiery yorker. The wicket came on the second-last ball of the 18th over, when Bumrah shattered Rauf’s off-stump. This dismissal carried more weight as it was a direct response to the controversy from the Super Four stage, where Rauf had made provocative gestures that drew criticism.

For those actions, the Pakistan fast bowler was fined 30 per cent of his match fee by the ICC. After uprooting Rauf’s stumps, Bumrah celebrated in his own style. He mimicked a “plane crashing down”, adding a smile to his face, which caught everyone’s attention. The send-off soon spread rapidly across social media, with fans widely sharing and commenting on it.

Irfan Pathan’s Reaction To The Gesture

Bumrah’s celebration did not just stay among fans; it also drew the attention of former cricketers. One of them was Irfan Pathan, the former Indian all-rounder, who shared his reaction online. He posted on X, formerly Twitter, and wrote, “Flight land Kara di Bumrah ne.”

This one-liner quickly resonated with fans, adding humor to the rivalry narrative between India and Pakistan. It also reflected how Jasprit Bumrah’s act was viewed not as a random send-off but as a fitting reply to Rauf’s earlier behavior. The incident added extra spice to the already intense clash between the two cricketing giants.

India’s Bowling Brilliance In The Final

Beyond the drama, India’s bowlers dominated the Asia Cup final. Pakistan, despite a strong start, could only manage 146 runs before being bowled out. India’s decision to bowl first paid off when their spinners and pacers worked in tandem to restrict the opposition. Kuldeep Yadav stood out as the star performer, delivering an excellent spell of 4/30 in his four overs. Alongside him, Varun Chakaravarthy (2/30), Axar Patel (2/26), and Jasprit Bumrah (2/25) also chipped in with key wwickets

Earlier, Pakistan’s batting looked solid when Sahibzada Farhan (57 off 38 balls) and Fakhar Zaman (46 off 35 balls) built an 84-run stand within the first 10 overs. This partnership promised a much bigger total, but India’s spinners struck at crucial moments, breaking the flow of runs. Once the opening pair departed, Pakistan’s middle and lower order struggled to handle the pressure, collapsing swiftly and leaving India with a manageable target.
