Sahibzada Farhan was dismissed after a brisk 57 off 38 balls, when he mistimed a shot and found Tilak Varma at deep mid-wicket in the Asia Cup 2025 final at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday, September 28. His knock had provided the early impetus, contributing 57 of Pakistan’s first 84 runs.

Earlier, Chakravarthy had given away just five runs in his opening over but was lofted elegantly over long-on on the third ball of his second over, which was also the 10th of the innings. The mystery spinner quickly struck back, however, by firing in the next delivery slightly quicker and shorter, catching Farhan off guard.

The delivery appeared to hurry onto Farhan, leaving him with little room to maneuver. As a result, he could only get a faint connection, sending the ball straight to Tilak Varma at deep mid-wicket. Tilak stayed composed, crouched low, and completed a clean reverse-cupped catch to break the 84-run opening partnership.

Farhan Continues Strong Run Against India With Another Entertaining Knock

Farhan’s entertaining knock featured five boundaries and three maximums. He had already enjoyed a fine run against India earlier in the tournament, registering scores of 40 in the group stage and 58 in the Super Four clash.

Suryakumar Yadav’s men, however, had prevailed in both previous meetings with Pakistan during this Asia Cup 2025, successfully chasing targets on each occasion. They won the group-stage game by seven wickets and the Super Four encounter by six wickets—both played at the same Dubai venue.

In this summit clash, India won the toss and chose to bowl first. The Men in Blue entered the final riding on an unbeaten streak of six victories from as many matches. Pakistan, meanwhile, secured four wins on their road to the title clash, with both of their defeats coming against their traditional rivals.
