Joe Root to play Indian Premier League for the first time
Joe Root will be playing the most popular league in the world, Indian Premier League for the first time this year. He was taken by Rajasthan Royals for a base price of 1 Crore.
Known as one of the best Test batters in modern-day cricket, Root has not performed well for England in the shortest format with only 32 T20I matches (30 innings) and made just 893 runs with the highest score of 90 not out.
Root would be hoping to showcase his aggressive abilities for Rajasthan Royals if given a chance in the playing XI.
