Chasing a mammoth 222 to win, Jos Buttler fell after scoring a brisk 25 off 13 balls. The wicket fell at the wrong time for the Royals but was very timely for Punjab. Buttler added 45 with Sanju Samson before being fooled by a slower yorker from Richardson. Both Buttler and Samson were going great guns before KL Rahul brought back Richarsin for the prized scalp of Buttler and he delivered.
The ball which dismissed Buttler was the third delivery of the eighth over. The Aussie pacer gave two singles of his first two deliveries. In the third delivery, Richardson changed the pace of the ball and bowled a clever slower delivery. Buttler was early with the shot and the ball arrived late and castled his stumps.

Meanwhile, Rajasthan are inching closer to victory after a magical turnaround from Samson and Riyan Parag (25 off 11). They added a 50-run stand in no time to put Punjab Kings in pressure in the death overs of the game. Meanwhile, Sanju Samson came the first debutant IPL captain to score a century in the tournament. This was his third IPL ton overall. He has now scored two centuries for the Royals and one for Delhi Daredevils.
Samson brought the side back into the game with his strokeplay and found support from Buttler first and then Dube and Parag.
