England wicket-keeper batsman Jos Buttler is one of the most exciting cricketers of his generation. He has been one of the pillars behind England lifting their first ICC World Cup last year. As he waits for the game to resume, Buttler has revealed his cricketing idol.
Buttler gained a lot of popularity in India playing for Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He took the tournament by storm smashing bowlers all-round the park. The Englishman was with Mumbai Indians before joining the Royals. Since then, Jos Buttler has been a star attraction in the cash-rich league.

Amid the prevailing lockdown, cricketers are engaging more and more with their fans on various platforms. During one such conversation, Buttler heaped praise on former India skipper MS Dhoni calling him his idol. Meanwhile, speculations are on an all-time high about his retirement.
“MS Dhoni has always been a big idol of mine and chaos is always going around him, people wanting a bit of him, the cricket and the noise. It is such a great lesson to just watch him and see first hand how to manage all that thing if you have to perform at the top level and perform in those crunch moment, that certainly has been one of the massive pluses,” Buttler said.

Furthermore, talking about his stint in the IPL, Jos Buttler said it has been a learning curve for him rubbing shoulders with the big guns in world cricket. Buttler, who had started his IPL journey in 2016-2017, said his first experience of playing in the cash-rich tournament was quite tiring.
“So that’s been a great learning curve. One of the things I came out with from the first IPL is to just learn to deal with the chaos. There is so much going on off the field, with adverts and stuff that you never done before, meet and greet and different things for different sponsors and then thinking about the game all the time and finding ways to switch off,” Buttler concluded.
