Kapil Dev today was hospitalized after he complained of chest pain. Once this news broke out his countless fans were concerned and started praying for his well-being. Several cricketers on social media platforms sent wishes to the former world cup winning captain of India and wished him a speedy recovery.
Kapil Dev was hospitalized in Delhi’s Forties Escorts Hospital and had to endure an angioplasty after experiencing a heart attack. Thankfully the hospital released a statement and professed that his health is now stable and he is expected to be discharged in a couple of days.
“Former Indian Cricket captain Mr. Kapil Dev , Age 62 years, came to Fortis Escorts Heart Institute (Okhla Road) emergency department at 1:00 am on 23rd October with a complaint of chest pain. He was evaluated and an emergency coronary Angioplasty was performed by Dr. Atul Mathur, Director of Cardiology Department, in the middle of night.
Currently, he is admitted in ICU and under close supervision of Dr. Atul Mathur and his team. Mr. Kapil Dev is stable now and he is expected to get discharged in couple of days,” read the statement.
Kapil Dev Says He’s On The Road To Recovery
Later in the day, Kapil Dev himself posted a heartfelt story on Instagram and acknowledged everyone for their wishes. The 61-year-old gave a piece of positive news that pleased all his devotees as he confirmed that he is now on his way to recovery.
“Thank you, everyone, for all the love and concern. I am overwhelmed with the good wishes and well on the road to recovery,” read the statement on his Instagram story”, wrote Kapil Dev.

The legendary cricketer is recognised as one the greatest ever captains of all time. Also, Kapil Dev is among the finest all-rounders the game has ever witnessed. He is still the only cricketer to do the double of 5000 Test runs and pick over 400 Test wickets (434).
Meanwhile, it was under Kapil Dev when India defied all odds and lifted the prudential cup in 1983. The world cup win completely changed the landscape of the sport in the country and still to date is acknowledged as the greatest day in India’s cricket history.
