On exactly 7:29 IST on 15th August, MS Dhoni amazed everyone as he finally said goodbye to international cricket. After leading India to several triumphs the great man finally decided to call it a day and decided to hang his boots. Dhoni represented India for 15 years as he in that span became of the most influential Indian cricketer of all time.

As expected not only fans but all his contemporaries and former cricketers lauded the glittering career of MS Dhoni. Former England batsman Kevin Pietersen too acknowledged Dhoni’s contribution to not only Indian but world cricket. Pietersen posted a cheeky message for Dhoni and reminded him about the time when he came close to dismissing him in a Test match at Lord’s in 2011.

MS Dhoni and Kevin Pietersen who are great friends now have often had the attention of all the fans when they discuss that time Dhoni got the Englishmen out LBW. In the end, Decision Review System (DRS) saved Pietersen and he went on to score a magical 200 at the home of cricket.

“MS, my great buddy! What a career, what a stellar career, what an amazing career, what a magical career. One career that you should be so so proud of. The whole of India and the world of cricket have been so blessed to witness one of the best and one of the most magical careers”, Pietersen said.

“You know, I know, that it never happened. Okay? Now that you are done, let’s just clear the air. It never happened. Anyway buddy, awesome career. Congrats and welcome to the club, we are all out,” recalled Pietersen.

Meanwhile, the former Indian cricketer will return to action in the upcoming Indian Premier League season (IPL). The 39-year-old will be leading his 3 time IPL champion time the Chennai Super Kings. Dhoni, along with almost every other CSK player is currently in Chennai preparing for the IPL season that will kick off from September 19 in the UAE.
