South Africa defeated India by sevem wickets in the first T20I match at Arun Jaitley Stadium in the ongoing T20I series. South Africa successfully chased down the target of 212 runs set by the Indian team. With this win, South Africa took a lead of 1-0 in this T20I series. David Miller was the star for Proteas.

While chasing the target of 212 runs, South Africa didn’t get a good start. They lost the early wicket of Captain Temba Bavuma. Bhuvneshwar Kumar took this crucial wicket. However, Dwaine Pretorius played a counter-attacking knock in the Powerplay. He scored 29 runs in 13 balls which provided momentum to Proteas innings.

South Africa managed to score 60 plus runs in the powerplay. However, they lost the wicket of Quinton De Kock in the 9th over. South Africa was in deep trouble with the required run rate almost touching 12. David Miller joined Rassie Van Der Dussen at the crease. Both of them started slowly in their innings to run a ball in the first 12 balls.

However, David Miller soon changed gears and took on Indian bowlers. David Miller played an amazing knock of 64 runs in 31 balls. He hit 5 sixes in his innings. Rassie Van Der Dussen too finished on high at a score of 75 runs in 46 balls. He hit 7 fours and 5 sixes in his innings. It was a poor day for Indian bowlers.
