India and South Africa are facing each other at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi in the first T20I match of the ongoing T20I series between both teams. It’s a crucial series for both the teams considering T20 World Cup is going to be played this year. Ishan Kishan played an amazing inning in the first T20I match.
Ishan Kishan played an impactful knock of 76 runs in 48 balls against South Africa. The left-handed opener hit 11 fours and three sixes in this brilliant knock. He smashed South African bowlers all around the park. Ishan took on his favourable matchup with Keshav Maharaj brilliantly.
After being invited to bat first, the Indian team was dependent on Ishan Kishan to provide a good start. Ishan hit two fours on the bowling of Keshav Maharaj in the first over. However, in the upcoming overs in the powerplay, Ishan didn’t get his timing right against pacers. He struggled on good length balls.
However, Ishan attacked spinners in middle overs. He hit Keshav Maharaj for 6,6,4,4 in the first 4 balls of the 13th over of the game. As a result of this brilliant knock of Ishan, India reached a total of 211 runs in 20 overs. Fans appreciated Ishan Kishan for making an amazing comeback after a bad IPL season.

Good innings by Ishan Kishan, after a long time.
But could've still done better in the powerplay which has remained his problem for quite some time now.
Overall, a fine knock. Was scoring well in the middle overs which was a bigger problem than his PP batting, in IPL 2022.

“Ball wasn’t coming easily”: Ishan Kishan about Kotla pitch
The Indian team posted a mammoth target of 212 runs for the South African team. Ishan provided a great platform to the Indian team. Later Captain Rishabh Pant played a cameo of 29 runs. In the end, Hardik Pandya played an impactful knock of 31 runs in 12 balls to finish the innings on a high.
Ishan Kishan in a mid-match interview said, “The ball was not coming on easily, 211 is a good score. It was important to keep the shape and you tend to miss it when the ball comes at high pace. I wanted to watch the ball till the last moment and hold my shape. We have to use the powerplay well and the wicket wasn’t easy for new batters.”
