KKR’s New Mentor Shares A Light-Hearted Moment At Team Event Before IPL 2025

Kolkata Knight Riders’ (KKR) newly appointed mentor, Dwayne Bravo, humorously remarked that he would try to teach head coach Chandrakant Pandit a few dance moves during their IPL 2025 campaign. The former West Indies all-rounder even praised Pandit, calling him a good dancer.

Bravo has stepped into the role of KKR mentor, succeeding Gautam Gambhir, who is now the head coach of the Indian national team. Under Gambhir’s mentorship and Pandit’s coaching, KKR secured the IPL title in 2024.

Speaking at the ‘Knights Unplugged 2.0’ event on Wednesday, March 19, Bravo shared his thoughts on the challenge of being KKR’s mentor. Adding a touch of humor, the ‘Champion’ singer also playfully agreed to give Pandit some dance lessons. He said:

“I think so definitely. I will try to teach him a few dance steps. He looks like a very good dancer.”

On a more serious note, Bravo expressed his desire for the current generation of KKR players to earn recognition as champion cricketers. The 41-year-old remarked:

“My records speak for themselves, but at the end of the day, it’s about the next generation of cricketers and helping them become champions in their own way… The key to success is passion for the game.”

“Some Players Were Tough Opponents” – Dwayne Bravo Reflects on Playing Against KKR in IPL

Kolkata Knight Riders’ (KKR) new mentor, Dwayne Bravo, recently reflected on his past experience playing against the team in the IPL. He mentioned that facing a few players was particularly challenging but expressed his happiness at now being part of the KKR setup.

Defending champions KKR won their third IPL title last year, defeating SRH. Dwayne Bravo replaced Gautam Gambhir as mentor for IPL 2025. At the ‘Knights Unplugged 2.0’ event on March 19, he spoke about instilling a champion’s mindset in the team and recalled his past encounters with KKR.

“I’d like to bring in the champion mentality. I believe in winning. My records speak for themselves, but at the end of the day, it’s about the next generation of cricketers and helping them become champions in their own way.”

“KKR is a team hugely respected worldwide. When I was playing, a couple of guys used to be a nightmare to face. Happy to be part of this setup now,” the former West Indies captain went on to add.
