After a cracking encounter on Monday night, it’s the defending champions Mumbai Indians who play their second game against Kolkata Knight Riders at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on April 13 (Tuesday). Both teams have had a contrasting start to their IPL 2021 campaign – Mumbai losing their first game to Royal Challengers Bangalore while Kolkata defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad. However, both Mumbai and Kolkata will be aiming for a win and set the records straight.

Rohit Sharma & Co, whose losing streak in the opening encounters as they went down against the Virat Kohli & his boys on the first day of IPL 2021 campaign. The bowling looked clueless against AB de Villiers, who took the game away with his splendid batting display. Despite a good beating, Mumbai Indians are likely to back their bowling unit. However, one change is expected with Quinton de Kock making his way in for unlucky Chris Lynn, who was Mumbai’s highest run-scorer against Bangalore.

On the other hand, Kolkata Knight Riders come into the contest upbeat, having fixed the top-order issue that plagued them last season. They boast of a formidable middle-order and will bank on the likes of Dinesh Karthik, Eoin Morgan, and Andre Russell again to repeat the 2019 win. Their bowling also did exceptionally well with the addition of ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan bonding well for the side.
