Team India all-rounder Krunal Pandya had a blistering start to his One-Day International career during the 1st ODI between India and England at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. Meanwhile, Krunal got emotional and was seen crying during an interview session in the wake of his unbeaten 58-run knock which helped the home side get to a challenging total in the first innings.

Incidentally, Krunal and Hardik Pandya had lost their father earlier this year. Krunal was seen getting emotional when his brother Hardik handed him the debut cap ahead of the game. Throughout his knock, the all-rounder from Baroda looked emotional and animated throughout his knock alongside KL Rahul.

He came out to the middle at a time when India were in all sorts of trouble losing a couple of wicket in quick succession. Despite the momentum on the other side, Krunal Pandya came out with a purpose of launching an attack against the England bowlers and collecting quick runs. He added 100+ runs with Rahul propelling India to 317 runs which looked like a far-fetched dream at one stage in the game.

Pandya remained unbeaten on 58 runs from just 31 deliveries including seven boundaries and two towering sixes. Krunal Pandya joined for a quick chat with the commentators after India’s innings where all hell break loose. He was at a complete loss of words while tears rolled out his eyes as the camera panned to the other side. Later, it was seen that he broke down on his brother Hardik Pandya’s shoulders.

Talking of the game, Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli set up beautifully earlier on a pitch that offered movement with the new ball along with good pace and bounce. But India lost their way, losing wickets in a hurry after that partnership was broken. However, the finish just came out of nowhere really with Krunal Pandya suddenly starting to time everything right off the middle upon his arrival to the crease with good support from KL Rahul, who remained unbeaten on 62 runs.
