“Made Every Dream Possible” – Discarded Team India Star Buys Luxury Car Before IPL 2026

Team India leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal announced on Monday, December 22, that he has bought a new BMW ahead of IPL 2026. The luxury car was unveiled by his parents, and the Haryana-born cricketer said seeing them experience and enjoy the moment made it one of the most special days of his life.

Chahal, who has represented India in 72 ODIs and 80 T20Is since making his debut in 2016, last featured for the national side in August 2023. While he continues to be a regular in the IPL, a return to Team India has proved difficult due to Kuldeep Yadav’s consistent form, the emergence of Varun Chakaravarthy, and the presence of spin-bowling all-rounders.

Now 35, a comeback to international cricket appears improbable. Acknowledging his parents’ role in turning his dreams into reality, the 2019 World Cup campaigner shared pictures of his new car on X, along with the caption:

“Brought my new car home with the two people who made every dream possible. Watching my parents witness and relish this milestone is the real luxury.”

Yuzvendra Chahal took part in the recently concluded Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy but was ruled out of the final against Jharkhand after being diagnosed with dengue and chikungunya. He appeared in just three matches during the tournament and claimed four wickets.

Punjab Kings Retain Yuzvendra Chahal Ahead Of IPL 2026

Following his impressive showing in IPL 2025, Yuzvendra Chahal has been retained by the Punjab Kings (PBKS) for the 2026 season. The leg-spinner made headlines as the most expensive spinner in IPL auction history, fetching ₹18 crore. He ended the previous season with 16 wickets in 14 matches at an average of 26.87, including two four-wicket hauls.

In the final, Chahal returned figures of 4-0-37-0 as PBKS narrowly lost to Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) by six runs. Ahead of IPL 2026, PBKS also acquired Cooper Connolly, Ben Dwarshuis, Vishal Nishad, and Pravin Dubey in the auction.
