Indian skipper Virat Kohli scored an unbeaten 73 as he guided Team India to a victor in the second T20I against England. he added a 93-run stand with Ishan Kishan (56) for the second wicket with the left-hander scoring his maiden T20I fifty on debut. India won the game by seven wickets and with 13 balls to spare. In the process, the Indian skipper broke a number of records and made some new ones.

- He became the first batsman to score 3000 T20I runs. he went past the milestone when he was batting on 17. The Indian skipper now has 3001 runs to his name in 87 T20Is at a stunning average of 50.86. He is the leading run-getter in T20Is at present.
2) Virat Kohli became just the third player to complete 12000 runs as captain. In the process, he also joined an elite list with Ricky Ponting (15440 runs) and Graeme Smith(14878 runs) being the other two players to achieve the same feat. The next Indian on the list is former skipper MS Dhoni — with 11,207 runs.
3) Kohli went past Rohit Sharma‘s tally of fifties with his score of unbeaten 73 in the second T20I. Rohit has 25 T20I fifties to his name and on Sunday Kohli bettered it by one more.

4) This was also Virat Kohli’s 10th fifty-plus score as India’s T20I captain. He is only behind Kane Williamson (11) on the list of captains with most half-centuries in T20Is. Williamson and Kohli are the only players to have ten-plus fifty scores in Tests, ODIs and T20Is as captain.
Through his knock, the Indian skipper silenced his critics who targeted him for not contributing to his team’s success in the recent past. He was dismissed for a duck in the first T20I and already has three ducks to his name this year.
