“He would always leave the things happening off the field, off the field. Generally, Warnie would have a smoke as he was walking onto the ground. He will try to hide it somewhere. And when he finished his smoke and put it out, he knew that it was game time,” Clarke said.

Clarke also spoke about how Warne was discarded from selection in the Australian squad for the 2003 World Cup which they won. Brad Hogg replaced the legendary spinner in the squad.

“He crossed that line and whatever he had going off the field, he would leave it there, go and do his stuff on the field and when he came back, he knew it was still going to be there,” he added.

Warne’s ODI career ended in the back end of 2003 after missing out on the World Cup squad. He played Test cricket till 2007 taking 708 wickets in 145 Test matches. He played 194 ODIs in which he managed to take 293 wickets. Despite being involved in several controversies in his career, Shane Warne remains one of the most popular players to have ever played the sport.
