India and Leicestershire XI are facing each other in a 4 day warm up match. This match will help give match practice to Indian players ahead of the final test match against England starting on 1st July in Edgbaston. Once again all the eyes were on the performance of Virat Kohli.

Virat Kohli played a good knock of 33 runs in the first innings of the warm up game. He played with a lot of determination despite wickets falling from the other end. Kohli helped India bail out of the trouble by forming a good partnership with KS Bharat.

However during his innings, Virat tried to do the magic trick of the bat-balancing which Joe Root did a few days back. A video of Joe Root went viral on social media in which his bat was standing upright steadily without any support of hand. This video gained a lot of attention. Former Indian captain also tried to do the same.

However, Kohli couldn’t do it successfully. The bat couldn’t maintain his balance like it did for Joe Root. Michael Vaughan who is famous for his sarcastic tweets on twitter put up a sarcastic tweet for this incident. Vaughan quoted the video of Kohli trying bat- balancing and wrote: “Virat not in the same Bat balancing league as Joe”.

KS Bharat and Rishabh Pant shine in warm up game

Indian captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to field first on a greenish pitch. KS Bharat was the best batsman for the Indian team in the first innings. He played a brilliant knock of 70* runs with almost no support from the other end. Roman Walker picked up a hard earned Fifer.

In reply to it, Rishabh Pant was the only batsman who scored fifty plus score for Leicestershire XI. He was the lone warrior for them. Mohammed Shami and Ravindra Jadeja picked up three crucial wickets each. The Indian team got a lead of 2 runs after completion of 1st innings of both teams.
