Micheal Vaughan wasn’t pleased after Virat Kohli took an indirect dig at former England players who criticised the Ahmedabad pitch. Ahead of the final Test match Kohli slammed the pitch critics and stated that his team are successful as they never crib about the surface but only focus on their strengths as a team.

The third Test match between India and England finished inside two days as Vaughan and other former players heavily analysed the pitch. Amidst all the pitch talk nobody questioned the batting techniques of England players against Indian spinners. Nevertheless, the Indian captain had enough of the unnecessary talk about the pitch and called the conversation about it one-sided.

“The reason for our success is that we have not cribbed about any pitch we have played on and we will continue to play like that. We all need to be honest with ourselves what is the idea behind continuing this narrative and what purpose it serves people who keep continuing the conversation which is one-sided”, Kohli said in the press conference.

Soon after Kohli’s statements Vaughan once again was the first to condemn on social media.

“Pretty sure the Groundsman was sacked after the 1st Test because the pitch was too flat !!!!! Isn’t that cribbing about a pitch ?? #JustAsking?”, Micheal Vaughan tweeted.

Meanwhile, Vaughan and other England players never talk about the pitch when Test matches get over within 3 days in their country. The third Test pitch at Ahmedabad was surely challenging but wasn’t unplayable as Vaughan and others suggested. England piled on the runs in the opening Test when the pitch was flat on the first 3 days.

As soon as the ball started turning from day 1 it completely changed the Test series as India were by far the better side. India is currently leading the series 2-1 and will be keen to win the 4th Test and qualify for the ICC world Test championship final.
