Mitchell Marsh delivered a stunning performance in IPL 2025, scoring his maiden century on May 22 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. After a series of consistent fifties, Marsh finally broke through with a commanding 117 off 64 balls, dismantling Gujarat Titans’ bowling attack.
His innings, marked by 10 boundaries and 8 sixes, played a crucial role in Lucknow Super Giants’ imposing total of 235/2. Marsh’s century also made him the first overseas batter to reach the milestone in IPL 2025, securing his place in the tournament’s history.
Marsh’s Masterclass against GT
Mitchell Marsh delivered a dominant batting performance for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) against Gujarat Titans (GT) in IPL 2025, scoring his maiden century in just 56 balls. Opening alongside Aiden Markram, Marsh started cautiously, rotating the strike in the early overs before shifting gears.
During the powerplay, Marsh capitalized on fielding restrictions, finding gaps and preventing GT’s bowlers from settling. The defining moment came in the 12th over, when he took on Rashid Khan, smashing 25 runs in a single over—two sixes and three boundaries—completely shifting the momentum in LSG’s favor.
After reaching his half-century, Marsh accelerated further, attacking both spinners and pacers with precision. His 117 off 64 balls, featuring 10 boundaries and 8 sixes, played a crucial role in LSG’s imposing total of 235/2, marking a standout performance in IPL 2025.
Milestone Achieved
Mitchell Marsh scored his maiden IPL century in IPL 2025, becoming the first overseas player to achieve the feat this season. His 117 off 64 balls for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) against Gujarat Titans (GT) marked a significant milestone in his career.
Marsh also joined an elite group of Australian batters, becoming the 11th Australian to score an IPL century, alongside players like David Warner, Adam Gilchrist, and Shane Watson. He was also the fourth batter to score a hundred for Lucknow Super Giants after KL Rahul, Marcus Stoinis and Quinton de Kock. The South African star is the only batter to hit more than one hundred for LSG.

Aftermath of the Knock
Mitchell Marsh’s century came too late to save Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) from elimination in IPL 2025. Despite his 117-run masterclass, LSG had already been knocked out of the playoff race following their six-wicket loss to Sunrisers Hyderabad earlier in the week. While Marsh’s performance was a standout moment, it couldn’t change the team’s fate, as LSG’s campaign officially came to an end.
