Before the MLC 2023 playoffs, Rashid Khan of MI New York (MINY) had a lighthearted moment with his close friend Dwayne Bravo from the Texas Super Kings (TSK). They share a strong bond off the field.
During a break in the MLC 2023 playoffs, Dwayne Bravo was engrossed in a conversation with MINY captain Pollard when Rashid Khan seized the opportunity and crept up from behind, scaring Bravo.
The two T20 superstars then shared a warm hug, and the MINY social media team’s cameraman captured the hilarious moment, declaring that they got Bravo.
MI New York didn’t miss the chance to share the amusing video on Twitter, with the caption: “Legends in stature. Boys by nature. #OneFamily #MINewYork #MajorLeagueCricket #wafvminy.”

In 2023, Rashid Khan and Dwayne Bravo made the transition from being teammates to becoming competitors
Moving on to the MLC 2023 playoffs, the first phase took place recently in the USA. In the Qualifier 1 match, Quinton de Kock’s impressive 50-ball 80 led Seattle Orcas to a convincing nine-wicket victory over Texas Super Kings.
MI New York faced Washington Freedom in the Eliminator. Despite posting a modest total of 141 runs in the first innings, MINY secured their place in the Challenger match by limiting Washington to 125/9. Trent Boult shone with a brilliant four-wicket haul.
Returning to the light-hearted moment between Rashid Khan and Dwayne Bravo, these two players will now be opponents in the Challenger match. MI New York will battle it out against the Texas Super Kings for a spot in the final against the Seattle Orcas.
It’s worth mentioning that Khan and Bravo were previously teammates at the MI Emirates during the International League T20 earlier this year. Interestingly, the MI Emirates made it to Qualifier 2, where they faced defeat against the eventual champions, Gulf Giants.
