Afghan all-rounder Mohammad Nabi will be retiring from the longest format of the game. The ongoing test against Bangladesh will be his last in whites.

Nabi has been one of the most integral parts of the Afghanistan Cricket team right from its inception. The team attained test status last year.

Nazim Jar Abdurrahimzai, the team manager of Afghanistan confirmed the same with Cricbuzz today. He said, “Yes, He will be retiring after the ongoing test.”

However, the reasons behind the same aren”t known yet. Aged 34, he played only three tests till now including the current game. Sources suggest that he might have taken this decision to prolong his career in limited-overs cricket. It is to be noted that he has been an asset for the franchise-based T20 cricket.
