After thrashing West Indies in their latest T20 series Pakistan completed a record-breaking 2021 as they became the team with the most wins in a calendar year in which they reached the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup playing exhilarating cricket even though it ended at the hands of the eventual winners Australia; thanks mostly to the talismanic trio of Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, and Shaheen Shah Afridi.

In his latest interview, Shaheen revealed who his favorite Captain and Batsman was. He praised Rizwan’s personality and Shaheen thinks Rizwan is the Best captain as it was Rizwan who captained him in his first domestic competition.

He also added that Babar has done a fantastic job and Pakistan are reaching new heights under him and also went on to state that Babar was his favorite batsman and the Best Batsman.

Shaheen said “I like [Mohammad] Rizwan’s personality. I started playing domestic competition with him from KPK’s side and I would rate him as the best. Since Babar has , done a fantastic job with the national team, I will rank him second,” said Shaheen Afridi as quoted by Cricket Pakistan.

Shaheen heaped high praise on Babar Azam, his current captain as he weighed in on his sublime batting skills and captaincy.

“Babar Azam is my favorite batsman and he is the number one batter as well. He has done fantastically well as a captain for the national team and we are reaching new heights under him,” said Shaheen as quoted by Cricket Pakistan.

Pakistan certainly has an exciting future in cricket with Young Shaheen, Babar, and Rizwan who is at the peak of his powers. Babar’s Pakistan has Australia next as the visitor’s tour Pakistan for the first time in 24 years. This is a series that can cause massive differences in the current cycle of the World Test Championship.
