Experienced fast bowler Mohammed Shami has removed star batsmen Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers to put Kings XI Punjab on top against Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. Kohli was trying to look dangerous in the death overs after getting a good start.

Bangalore openers Devdutt Padikkal looked in strides making use of the powerplays. They soon raced to 38 in four overs before Arshdeep Singh draw the first blood for Punjab. Padikkal, who has been in scintillating form misjudged the pace and gave a dolly to Nicholas Pooran, placed in the covers.

Murugan Ashwin also chipped in with a crucial wicket to remove Aaron Finch which saw Washington Sundar come out ahead of AB de Villiers. The all-rounder struggled to get and was followed by Shivam Dube, who also looked completely out of the socks.

Virat Kohli, who anchored the innings, kept the scoreboard ticking with ones and twos before Chris Jordan removed Dube to have Royal Challengers Bangalore at 127 for four. The dismissal saw AB de Villiers come out in the middle but much to his dismay contributed only with two runs before Mohammed Shami dismissed him.

The India international backed it with another wicket that of Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli. It was a short ball from Mohammed Shami which never really arrived and Kohli was through the shot so early. The ball hit him on the glove as he followed through before KL Rahul grabbed a fine diving catch.

Mohammed Shami has sent back AB and Kohli in the same over and has a big smile as celebrates the wicket with both his arms up.
