Murugan Ashwin, who is making a comeback into the playing XI delivered a tremendous delivery to knock off Aaron Finch, who was starting to look dangerous. Meanwhile, Kings XI Punjab have responded well after asked to bowl first by Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
Bangalore openers Devdutt Padikkal looked in strides making use of the powerplays. They soon raced to 38 in four overs before Arshdeep Singh draw the first blood for Punjab. Padikkal, who has been in scintillating form misjudged the pace and gave a dolly to Nicholas Pooran, placed in the covers.
Murugan Ashwin knocks Aaron Finch
The wicket brought Virat Kohli in the middle, who was immediately into the skins of the Kings XI Punjab bowlers. He rotated the strike well along with Aaron Finch and was looking for a big partnership. Although Finch looked out of rhythm but with Kohli on the other end, he was starting to look dangerous when Murugan Ashwin struck.
Ashwin delivered quick small leg-break and Aaron Finch made the mistake of looking to keep it out off the back foot. Although the ball didn’t do much, it did enough to clean him up and knock the timber. It’s been a scratchy little knock from the Australian skipper, who departs after 200 runs from 18 balls.

Meanwhile, the onus now will be on Virat Kohli to carry the innings on his shoulder. Royal Challengers Bangalore sent in two left-handed batsmen – Washington Sundar and Shivam Dube to negate the spinners ahead of AB de Villiers.
Murugan Ashwin did well to remove Sundar cheaply as RCB reel at 90 for three in 11.3 overs.
