The Kings XI Punjab side started this year’s season with a loss as they lost control of the game in the final over the match. Mayank Agarwal and Mohammed Shami’s heroics went in vain as Delhi Capitals won the thriller in the super over. In that particular match, one player showed great strength of his abilities and that player was Indian pacer Mohammed Shami.

Shami was absolutely steaming in to bowl those opening overs for Kings XI Punjab franchise. He has been extremely good in the last few years and it reflected in Punjab’s first match. So much so, even Indian legend Sunil Gavaskar categorized Shami to have the best bouncer in the world at the moment.

Shami Probably Has The Best Bouncer – Sunil Gavaskar

During the Delhi Capitals vs Kings XI Punjab match, Sunil Gavaskar during commentary said that Shami probably has the best bouncer in the world. Since his bouncers skid on and make it difficult for the batsmen to attempt any shot. The fast bowler from Bengal bowled some extraordinary bouncers directed at the body which made the life of the batters difficult.

“He (Shami) probably has the best bouncer in world cricket, it skids on to you,” Gavaskar said during commentary of the DC vs KXIP IPL 2020 match no.2 in Dubai.

Former New Zealand player Simon Doull also praised Mohammed Shami for his consistency in bowling those short deliveries. He especially spoke about how Shami hits those right lengths at the right time creating those wicket-taking deliveries.

Mohammed Shami picked up three key wickets in his quota of four overs by giving just 15 runs. He sent packing the likes of Prithvi Shaw, Shimron Hetymer and Shreyas Iyer back to the dressing room restricting them just under 160.

After all Shami’s performance wasn’t enough as Kings XI Punjab batsmen stubbled early on in the innings. It was only when Mayank Agarwal started scoring runs in the latter stages when the ray of hope finally arrived. In the end, it was Delhi Capitals that triumphed Kings XI Punjab in the super over to win the contest.
