The 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is round the corner and the fans are already glued to their TV sets or mobile phones. The franchises have been giving glimpses from their practice sessions to keep the fans updated. Recently, Kings XI Punjab shared a video where Mayank Agarwal swapped roles with fielding coach Jonty Rhodes.
Meanwhile, Punjab come into this tournament chasing for their maiden trophy. They are one of the few teams who are yet to lift the prestigious trophy. The Kings XI have a revamped support staff group with Anil Kumble as the head coach. The leadership also witnessed a change after Ravichandran Ashwin changed the base to Delhi. Star batsman KL Rahul will lead the team in IPL 2020.
Agarwal swap roles with Jonty Rhodes
The entire team has been practising in full gear. However, that has not deterred them from having fun in between session. Recently, Mayank Agarwal swapped roles with fielding coach Jonty Rhodes. In the video posted by Kings XI Punjab, Rhodes can be seen taking fielding drills from Agarwal.
The former South African cricketer is one of the best fielders to play the game. We got to see some glimpses of his glorious past where he grabbed the balls with the utmost ease.
“Is that…..is that @mayankcricket coaching @JontyRhodes8?! #SaddaPunjab #Dream11IPL,” read the caption on the tweet.
“Come on youngster, you are better than that,” he says before handing out a low catch to Rhodes, who completes it confidently before throwing the ball back.
Agarwal also gave his inputs to Jonty Rhodes on his foot movement. “Come on Jonty. Feet….feet can be better,” he said.

Meanwhile, the last time IPL took place in the UAE in 2014, Kings XI Punjab produced a stellar performance. They will also want for a similar start when they face Delhi Capitals in IPL 2020 opener.
