Indian player Mohammed Siraj and Kuldeep Yadav were seen in a tussle on Day 2 of the first Test at the M.A Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Both Kuldeep and Siraj are currently warming the bench for the First Test while we witnessed the returns of Virat Kohli and Ishant Sharma to the Indian side.
While Mohammed Siraj was benched since both Jasprit Bumrah and Ishant Sharma returned to the side, Kuldeep Yadav was mysteriously benched yet again despite being one of the front runners to participate in the Chennai Test as the matchless streak for Kuldeep Yadav continues. The left-arm spinner had been in the bio bubble since August 2020, before the start of the IPL went on to play just 6 matches until January which included just one ODI and 5 IPL games for the KKR franchise.
With India now playing England in home conditions it was expected that Kuldeep Yadav would be India’s second choice spinner after Ravichandran Ashwin in the absence of Ravindra Jadeja but Team management made a strange call ahead of the start of the first Test as they called in left-arm spinner Shahbaz Nadeem into the playing XI ahead of Kuldeep Yadav despite being a part of the reserves.
Video Emerges of Mohammed Siraj Grabs Kuldeep Yadav by the neck
Team India went into the Chennai Test with 3 spinners which did not include Kuldeep Yadav which has proved costly for them as both Shahbaz Nadeem and Washington Sundar have failed to make a mark in the ongoing Test. England has notched up over 555 runs at end of Day 2 as both Nadeem and Sundar have managed to bowl 70 overs between them which includes just 6 maiden overs.
Nonetheless, keeping all things aside. A video emerged on Day 2 where we could see an apparent tussle between Mohammed Siraj and Kuldeep Yadav where Siraj was seen holding Kuldeep by the neck in the dressing room. The reason for the tussle is still unknown as it’s inconclusive in the short video clip that has surfaced.
