Mohammed Siraj Shares Chat With Jasprit Bumrah Amid ENG vs IND 5th Test

Mohammed Siraj, India’s star pacer, opened up about a heartfelt conversation he had with Jasprit Bumrah during the ongoing fifth Test against England at The Oval. Ahead of the match, Siraj and Bumrah shared an emotional exchange, as the latter was not included in the playing XI.

The team management had already decided that Bumrah would feature in only three of the five Tests to carefully manage his workload. As a result, the premier fast bowler was released from the squad midway through the final Test.

“Jassi bhai ko yahi bola tha ki aap jaa kyu rahe ho, main paanch wicket leke aake kisko hug karoon? Toh unhone bola main hoon idhar hi, bas tu paanc wicket le le. Toh yahi hum log ki baat hui thi (I told Jassi bhai why are you going? When I take five wickets, who will I come and hug? He told me I am here only, you just take five wickets. So this was the conversation with him),” he said (via bcci.tv)

Mohammed Siraj said pacers enjoy bowling in England due to helpful conditions. He leads the series with 18 wickets at 35.66, including a 4/86 at The Oval. Jasprit Bumrah, who played three Tests, took 14 wickets with two five-wicket hauls.

Prasidh Krishna Hails Team Effort After India’s Day 2 Comeback

Prasidh Krishna shared his thoughts on the Indian pacers’ impressive turnaround on Day 2 of the ongoing fifth Test. England’s openers, Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett, got off to a blazing start, stitching together a 92-run partnership in just 12.5 overs.

Despite the early onslaught, the Indian bowlers bounced back strongly, reducing England from 129/1 to 247 all out. Krishna spoke about how the pacers supported one another, communicated effectively, and remained committed to their game plan throughout the innings.

“The three of us actually had a chat in the break. We said whatever has happened has happened. We know what we have to be doing and make sure we back each other up. We keep going up to each other and bring everyone on the same path as the plans were,” he said.
