Sarfaraz Ahmed was sacked by the Pakistan Cricket Board as the skipper in Tests and T20 formats of the game. Not just from the role, he wasn”t fortunate enough to find a place for the upcoming Australian tour. The team”s performance and his personal knocks weren”t satisfactory and this led to his sacking.

Speaking on the same, former Pakistani wicket-keeper Moin Khan made some controversial statements. He said that the current coaches Misbah and Waqar never had a liking towards Sarfaraz and his role in the team.

“Misbah (UI Hag) and Waqar (Younis) never liked Sarfaraz (Ahmed). I am shocked that the PCB has removed Sarfaraz from captaincy in T201 cricket He has led Pakistan to 11 consecutive T20I series win and you can”t remove him due to few poor performances.” Moin Khan said to ARY News.

The PCB has now appointed Azhar Ali as the skipper for Tests while Babar Azam will take the responsibilities in T20I.

Upcoming fixtures

After a series defeat against Sri Lanka at home, Pakistan is trying to rejuvenate from the shock. Though they won the ODI series, the T20I whitewash wasn”t foreseen by the team.

The team will next play against Australia next month in the T20I and Test series.

On the other hand, the board is in talks with Sri Lanka cricket for organizing a Test series at home. It will be interesting to see if cricket returns to normalcy in Pakistan in days to come.
