Former India skipper MS Dhoni is a role model for every youngster across the length and breadth of the country. The U-19 skipper of Team India; Priyam Garg is no different. He recently revealed that he watches the former skipper’s videos to learn the art of leadership.

Garg is one of the brightest talents in the country and is line to make his international debut. He recently led India to the finals of the U-19 World Cup before losing to Bangladesh. During the tournament in South Africa, India defeated some of the heavyweights under his leadership.

MS Dhoni is my idol – Priyam Garg

He recently bagged his first IPL contract when Sunrisers Hyderabad roped him during the auctions. During a recent interview, Priyam Garg picked MS Dhoni as his idol and inspiration. The young batting prodigy stated that he tries to be calm while batting or during the field and adapt rapidly to any situation like the keeper-batsman.

“I follow Dhoni sir. He is my idol and inspiration. I follow his footsteps when it comes to batting or captaincy. I have learned how to remain calm and adapt to any situation and condition from Dhoni sir.

I have watched his batting videos very closely and learnt from those. I always watch his videos of matches in which he turned the game on its head with his captaincy, batting or field-setting skills,” Priyam Garg told Times of India.

Incidentally, MS Dhoni is arguably the most successful Indian skipper. He is the only captain in history to win three ICC titles (ICC World T20 in 2007, ICC World Cup in 2011, and Champions Trophy in 2013). Apart from that, he took India to pinnacle spot in the ICC Test Rankings along with leading Chennai Super Kings to three IPL titles.
